Where German Distributors Put It

Pool surrounds
The coping detail, chlorine on every metal component, and heat underfoot. Slip is the question here, and most suppliers answer it with the wrong test.
Raised platforms and terraces
Free-standing decks on adjustable pedestals — no foundations, no penetration of what is underneath. The pedestal range starts at 24 mm build-up.
South-facing gardens
Colour is the lever on heat underfoot, and German summers now make that a real conversation rather than a Mediterranean one.

German buyers ask for the drawing first. Every section below is from our own die schedule — the dimensioned profile beside the board it produces, with the metre weight.
Capped co-extrusion, the main range
The capped generation runs round chambers rather than the square cells of the classic range — better compressive behaviour for the same wall thickness, and they clear water instead of holding it. Solid sections, classic sections and the full schedule are available on request; ask for the profile you are quoting and we will send that drawing.

What Owning the Line Gives You

Roughly 2,000 tonnes a month, about 100 containers. What matters to a distributor is not the headline but that a repeat order does not queue behind somebody else's. Send the volume and the date; we answer with a slot, not a hope.
Dies are ours, so sections are ours
We own the moulds and cut them in-house. That is why the schedule runs past a hundred sections rather than a catalogue page — and why a market-specific profile is a conversation rather than a refusal.
A test report with every shipment
Goods are checked before despatch and the report travels with them. Routine, not negotiated — and it is what makes a warranty claim a paperwork exercise later instead of an argument.
Certification: What We Hold, and What We Do Not
German specifiers verify, so here is the whole picture including the scope limits — a certificate covering three profiles is not a certificate covering the catalogue. Ask and we send the document itself.

What We Do for a Distributor
A first order does not have to be a container
Minimum order is 70 m². Well under a full container, and it exists so a new distributor can test a colour, a profile and our paperwork before committing to a 40HQ. Most suppliers at this end of the market quote 1 × FCL and lose the first conversation.
Samples are free
You pay the courier and we credit it in full against your first order. Ask for a sawn sample: the cut end shows whether the cap runs all the way round the section or stops at the sides.
A real number within 24 hours
Send the specification and the volume, get a per-unit price rather than a range. We need: profile, colour, quantity in m², discharge port and the date it has to be on the ground.
Private label, market-specific sections, testing on your profile
All three are conversations. We own the tooling, we already run sections cut for particular export markets, and where a project needs a test our documents do not cover we will put your profile through the laboratory — fee up front, credited against the order. What we will not do is hand you a result from a different profile and let it pass.

What German Weather Does to a Deck
Specific to Germany. It is not the advice we would give a buyer in Spain or the Gulf, because the failure modes are different — and we would rather write four honest country pages than one page with the name swapped.
The wet, dark winter is the one people underestimate
From November to March a north-facing German terrace barely dries out, and that is where the green film comes from — algae on a permanently damp surface. It is not the board degrading and it washes off, but it is the most common complaint in this climate. Tell your customer before they discover it. Drainage and a twice-yearly wash handle it; no fall and blocked gaps do not.
Frost is the first constraint
Composite does not absorb water the way timber does, so the board is not the problem — water that had nowhere to go is. Keep the board gaps clear, fall the substructure, and never close the perimeter so tightly that the deck becomes a tray. A frozen puddle under a board lifts it.
Summers now get hot enough to matter
A dark board in full German summer sun gets hot. Colour is the lever and nobody can engineer round it. If the surface is crossed barefoot, specify a lighter tone — we would rather say so before the order than after.
Streusalz attacks the fixings, not the boards
Winter grit scratches, and de-icing salt tracked onto a terrace concentrates as it dries. The composite handles it. Screws, clips, hangers and post bases do not — and that is exactly where nobody looks. Replacing corroded fixings means lifting the deck.
Thermal movement across a German year
From a frozen January morning to an August afternoon is a wide range, and composite moves more along its length than timber. Leave the end gap. A board butted tight against a wall in February has nowhere to go in July.
Three Things That Go Wrong When Europeans Import WPC
Not sales copy — these are the three that cost distributors money.
The frame is set out for timber
A joiner spaces joists at whatever timber decking takes, because that is the habit. Composite has a maximum support spacing and it is tighter than timber. Get the figure for your profile in writing and put it on the drawing before the frame goes down. Wrong, and the deck does not collapse — it flexes underfoot permanently, and the fix is lifting the boards.
No expansion gap at the ends
The most expensive of the three, because a buckled deck is a full relay.
Batch colour is not matched later
Pigment goes into the extrusion, so two runs of the same colour will not be identical. Order the whole job in one batch and keep spares from it. A board replaced in year four will not match — ours or anybody else's. Distributors who hold a buffer from each shipment avoid the argument entirely.
Warranty, and How a Claim Works
Stepped, not flat
Capped co-extrusion carries 15 years, classic uncapped 10. Both step down by year rather than paying full value throughout: 100% of the value of the affected goods in years 1–3, then 80, 70, 50 and 40% through years 4 to 7, then reducing in bands to 10% in the final years. It covers peeling, cracking and overall uneven fading.
It starts at the destination port
Cover runs from the date the goods arrive and are signed for at the port — not our factory gate, and not the day your customer installs them. That usually works in the distributor's favour.
Certificates are per batch
The schedule that applies is the one on that batch's certificate, which is why the test report shipping with the goods matters. Keep it with the commercial paperwork. If a supplier quotes you a flat 25 years, ask for the schedule — the answer tells you more than the number.

Commercial
What is the minimum order for Germany?
70 m². Deliberately well under a full container so a first order can be a trial rather than a commitment. Freight per unit improves as you approach a full 40HQ, but you do not have to start there.
How long does shipping to Germany take?
About 50 days port to port from Nansha or Yantian to Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Sea time only — production is separate and we confirm it against your volume when we quote.
Is there an anti-dumping duty on Chinese WPC into the EU?
No EU anti-dumping duty applies to our WPC products. The standard tariff line still applies, so confirm the current rate with your own customs broker before quoting a landed price — rates and classifications change and yours is the one that governs.
Do you do private label?
Ask us. We own the tooling and already run sections cut for particular export markets, so both private label and a market-specific profile are conversations rather than automatic refusals.
Technical and certification
Do you have CE marking?
Yes. Certificate M.2024.206.C97619 from UDEM International Certification, a notified body, under EU Regulation 305/2011 Annex V Clause 1.5, valid to 11 March 2029. It is issued against EN 15534-1:2014+A1:2017 and EN 14041:2018 and covers WPC decking profiles 138H23A, 140H25B and 138H23C. Quoting a profile outside that list? Ask us rather than assuming — we will tell you what the certificate actually covers.
Do you have a fire classification to EN 13501-1?
EN 14041:2018, which our CE marking is issued against, requires a reaction-to-fire classification to EN 13501-1. That class is stated on the Declaration of Performance rather than on the certificate, so ask for the DoP for the profile you are quoting and you will have it in writing. Two honest limits: the CE scope is three decking profiles, and we do not hold a separate EN 13501-1 classification covering cladding as an external wall application.
Any fire test data besides the CE documentation?
Yes, to the American method. SGS report GZIN2404000442CM01-1_EN dated 25 April 2024, tested to ASTM E84-23c, returned a flame spread index of 10 and a smoke-developed index of 30 — Class A for the interior wall and ceiling finish category, run on a 138 x 23 mm board with the white surface exposed. Useful evidence, but a US method on a US scale: it does not substitute for a Euroclass and nobody should tell you it does.
What slip rating do the boards have?
R10 under AS 4586-2013 Appendix D, ramp method at 15 degrees, Intertek report 230625005SHF-001, measured on profile ZSGJ138H23A. That result belongs to that profile, not the catalogue, and the classic uncapped range carries no slip classification. The barefoot wet method is a different standard and we have not tested to it.
What joist spacing do your boards need?
It is per profile and we give it in writing with the quotation. Do not carry a timber figure across, and do not carry another manufacturer's figure across either — the section geometry differs and so does the answer.
Are the boards capped on all four sides?
On the capped range the cap traces the full perimeter on the main profiles — the cross-section above shows it. We also run a half-wrapped section where the cap covers the top and part of the sides only. Ask which you are being quoted, and ask for a sawn sample: the cut end settles it in two seconds.
