We recommend leaving a 5–8mm gap between boards to allow for thermal expansion and contraction and to provide drainage for rainwater. In high-temperature climates (Middle East, Australia), err towards the larger end of this range. Yes. The surface groove pattern on both the square groove and round groove profiles provides effective slip resistance, particularly important for poolside areas and outdoor decks that become wet. The textured groove surface increases friction underfoot in wet conditions. For maximum slip resistance in high-risk wet areas such as commercial pool surrounds, our solid profile board with its deeper groove texture is recommended.
