Composite Decking Boards (premium)
Co-Extrusion WPC Composite Decking — Factory Direct China
BOHAI co-extrusion WPC decking boards represent the premium tier of composite outdoor decking — engineered for buyers who demand maximum performance, long-term colour stability, and the lowest possible lifetime maintenance cost. The defining feature is the co-extruded polymer cap layer, bonded to the WPC core during manufacture, which delivers superior resistance to UV fading, surface staining, and scratch damage that standard classic WPC cannot match.
Available in four board profiles across two widths, our co-extrusion range serves residential luxury decking, commercial poolside installations, rooftop terraces, and any project where long-term appearance and performance under demanding conditions is the priority. Supplied factory-direct from our Guangdong facility to distributors and project buyers in 50+ countries worldwide.

What exactly is co-extrusion WPC decking and how does it differ from classic WPC?
Co-extrusion WPC decking is manufactured by simultaneously extruding a protective polymer cap layer onto the WPC composite core — bonding the two materials permanently during production. This cap layer covers all four sides of the board and provides significantly superior UV resistance, stain resistance, and scratch resistance compared to standard classic WPC, which has an open-pore composite surface throughout. The result is a board that retains its colour and surface quality for much longer under outdoor conditions, with a longer effective service life.
What is the difference between the 23×148mm round hole and M-shape profiles?
Both boards share the same 148mm width and 23mm thickness, but differ in their internal hollow core geometry. The round hole profile features circular internal chambers, while the M-shape profile uses an M-shaped internal structure. The M-shape core provides greater structural stiffness across longer spans and distributes load more evenly — making it the preferred choice for decks with wider joist spacing or higher foot traffic requirements. The round hole profile is slightly lighter and offers equivalent performance for standard residential joist spacings.
Why choose the 148mm wide board over the 138mm?
The 148mm wide board covers more area per board, meaning fewer boards are required to deck the same surface — reducing total material quantity, installation clips, and labour time. For large deck areas, the 148mm profile can offer meaningful cost and time savings. The 138mm profile gives a slightly more traditional timber-plank appearance with finer board lines, which some buyers prefer aesthetically for residential projects.
Who should choose the 20×140mm solid co-extrusion board?
The solid co-extrusion board is the highest-specification option in our decking range — combining the full-density solid core of our heavy-duty boards with the co-extrusion cap layer technology. It is the right choice for buyers with a larger budget who prioritise maximum structural performance and the longest possible service lifespan over 30+ years. Typical applications include commercial boardwalks, high-footfall public areas, and luxury residential projects where the deck is a long-term investment.
How much better is co-extrusion WPC at resisting UV fading compared to classic WPC?
Classic WPC decking undergoes a natural weathering process during the first 3–6 months outdoors as surface pigments are exposed to UV radiation. Co-extrusion WPC significantly reduces this initial weathering effect and maintains colour stability over the long term due to the UV-stable polymer cap layer. Our co-extrusion boards are tested to ASTM D7032 weathering standards. For projects in high-UV environments — Australia, the Middle East, Southern Europe — co-extrusion is the strongly recommended choice.
Is co-extrusion WPC decking suitable for pool surrounds?
Yes — co-extrusion WPC is particularly well-suited for pool surround applications. The cap layer provides excellent resistance to pool chemicals, chlorine splash, and sunscreen oils that can stain open-pore classic WPC surfaces. Surface marks clean easily with water and mild detergent. Both the hollow and solid profiles are suitable for pool surrounds — choose the solid profile for areas with very high foot traffic or commercial pool facilities.
What installation gap is required for co-extrusion WPC decking?
We recommend a 5–8mm gap between co-extrusion boards to allow for thermal expansion and rainwater drainage. The co-extrusion cap layer provides slightly better dimensional stability than classic WPC, but a consistent gap is still required for all outdoor composite decking installations. Our hidden clip system automatically maintains consistent spacing during installation. In high-temperature climates, allow for the upper end of the recommended gap range.
Can BOHAI supply a complete co-extrusion decking system including accessories?
Yes. We supply a complete system including co-extrusion boards in your chosen profile, hidden stainless steel or aluminium clips, joist/keel profiles, edge trims, and end caps. All accessories are matched to the board profile and available colour. Free samples of the board surface and colour are available prior to ordering — contact us with your delivery address to arrange.
